A couple who had been living with their 3 children in a mid century ranch came to us looking for additional living, kitchen, bedroom and storage space to reorganize the home as well as add some aesthetic appeal.
The design was picked from 3 options that were presented to the client. The executed design option was arranged around and central “poche” wall that housed shelving, duct work, a stair and was the visual anchor on the exterior as well as interior.
Wood paneling on the “poche” wall set a backdrop for an open steel and glass stair leading to the master bedroom. The entry is a double height space with 3 pendants hung in a modern chandelier configuration to pull your eye up the space.
The straight lines, natural materials and open space all lent themselves to the contemporary nature of this home which sets it apart from is typical suburban context.
