Owners of a Lebanon, PA auto group approached us looking to adapt an existing facility into their new Kia Dealership. In order to be able to purchase more Kia’s, one of their most popular brands, they needed to update the facility inline with Kia’s standards.
We were pleased to see that the standard Kia prototypes were akin to our modern tendencies, although we soon found out the standards were just that, a standard, and had not yet been employed by any other Kia dealerships.
We took the base program and color palette and adapted it to fit the existing footprint of the existing dated showroom, while adding our own reinterpretation of the form and organization. The roof overhand was cut back and a new facade and storefront system were constructed. The exterior self supporting white aluminum facade added depth to the composition, highlighted with red 3-form branding and logos.
The interior was reorganized into a display area and seating area, bisected with a piano curve floor pattern and a wood clad white corian top reception desk. The sales and managers offices were seen as insertions into an existing load bearing CMU wall, leaving one end open to the sales floor to encourage exchange and interaction.
